Olney Neighborhood Spring Clean-Up Documentary Opportunity!

Please join us for an hour or two or three on North 5th Street in Olney on Saturday April 8th as we take some street and candid portraits of the residents of Olney!

Free t-shirts and lunch  for all PPL and clean-up volunteers!

The North 5th Street area in Olney is a vibrant commercial corridor with many unique independently owned shops and a wide variety of restaurants!

We have been  invited by the North Fifth Street Revitalization Project to help document the beautification of North 5th Street! https://www.facebook.com/northfifth/photos/a.367793281685.154417.288944361685/10154568858936686/?type=3&theater . Meetup is at their office around 9:30AM but you could also come anytime and float up and down the street, taking photos of the clean-up volunteers.  There are many photo opportunities on North 5th Street to take photos that day!  (Between Chew and Grange on the west side of North 5th Street)

The local girl scouts will be cleaning up Fisher Park and all scouts, guardians  and adult volunteers have signed releases for the photos.  Fisher Park is a 23 acre oasis with gardens and trails that should be beautiful this time of year. It is located at 600 W. Spencer Street in Olney, below Godfrey.

There are also opportunities at the railroad bridge at 5th & Sommerville, where volunteers will be painting “We Love Olney” signs to brighten up that area.

PHOTO-OPP STATION MAIN ACTIVITY:   It would be great to have  the most help at 11:30AM for an hour!  This will take place in front of the North 5th Street Revitalization Project office: 5738 North 5th Street.

From 11:30AM to 12:30PM there will be fun activities for the kids and lunch will be served!  There will be a backdrop for a photo-opp station where they asked us to take photos of the kids and adults with fun props, flowers and signs, which they will provide.  If you have a tripod it would be very helpful for this hour but if not, you can still help us take photos.

The staff at North Fifth Street Revitalization Project asked us if we could  upload some of the photos before we leave (if possible!) so they could use right away on Facebook. If you are able to do that, you may choose to shoot in jpeg and/or take some cell photos or just edit at home and send a dropbox link to them as soon as you can.

Thank you very much and hope to see you on Saturday April 8th!!
