Photo walk in Queen Village/Bella Vista

Lets meet at this combo coffee house and bar at the intersection of 5th, E Passyunk and Monroe.  I am not going on South Street where all the tourist attractions are. We are not tourist. I want to explore the hidden gems on the side streets.

We will head east on Monroe and see the great 3D like mural with the red lips. Then down 4th and east on Fitzwater.

Then down 3rd and east on Catherine to Mario Lanza Park. He was an American tenor of Italian ancestry, and an actor and Hollywood film star of the late 1940s and the 1950s.

Then west on Queen St past the Settlement Music School,  the largest community school of the arts in the United States offering 10,000 weekly services at six branches in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to thousands of people of all abilities, ages, races and financial means.

Then west on Christian to 6th and west on Catherine and stop in at Davinci Art Alliance and Fleisher Art Memorial across the street. Next door is a nice park.

Then down 8th and over to Montrose and the Mario Laza Institute. (hey this is a South Philly neighborhood – got to respect the musical hero of the past).

Then on to the Royal Tavern, a local hip institution. Low keyed, with great vegan options: tempeh club and vegan Sloppy Joe’s and seasonal sangria drinks. CASH only

So come on out and check out the fall scene in a real tight knit neighborhood. Will be sunny and 70’s.
